Lösung

By using the Usage Report function in Marketing Cloud Personalization (MCP), you can check the primary billable metrics: Named Profile Count and Unique Visitor Count.

1. Procedure for Checking Billable Metrics

You can check your usage from the Personalization Consumption Report screen.

  • Log in to the Marketing Cloud Personalization.

  • From the top navigation menu, select [Reports] | [Personalization Consumption].

  • The following items displayed on the report screen allow you to check your usage:

    • Monthly Unique Visitors: The number of unique visitors per month.

    • Named Individual Profiles: The number of identified individual profiles.

2. Calculation Logic for Billable Unique Visitor Count

The "Monthly Unique Visitors" metric is important for understanding the unique visitor volume subject to billing, but the final calculation method for the billable Unique Visitors is not a simple summation.

  • Calculation of Billable Unique Visitor Count: It is calculated as the "average monthly unique visitors over the past 12 months" within the contract period.

  • Therefore, simply adding up the "Monthly Unique Visitors" displayed in the report for the entire contract period will not yield the actual billable Unique Visitor count.

3. About "Named Individual Profile" and "Named Profile"

It is generally safe to understand that "Named Individual Profiles" on the report is synonymous with the commonly used term Named Profile (Identified Profile).

  • Definition of Named Profile (Identified Profile): This refers to an individual (Person) or Account that has been identified through one or more methods. Identification occurs through actions like inputting form fields, clicking emails, API calls, or ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processing.

  • Current Reality: While the term Named Profile technically includes both Person and Account, the Account Profile functionality has been retired. Therefore, in most implementations today, you can consider "Named Individual Profiles" to be equivalent to "Named Profile," referring specifically to identified individual profiles.
