Marketing Cloud Engagement FAQ: SAP Dedicated IP Assignment and MTA Configuration Change Availability

1. Common Question | SAP Dedicated IP Addresses

・Changing or Adding IP Addresses
The dedicated IP address assigned to your account is fixed by default and does not change automatically. You can, however, purchase additional IP addresses.
Consider purchasing additional IPs in the following scenarios:
  • High send volume: Your daily send volume significantly exceeds 2.5 million emails.
  • Traffic separation: You want to use separate IPs for transactional and marketing emails.

・Verify Your Dedicated IP Address
To check the dedicated IP addresses currently assigned to your account:
  1. Go to Setup in Marketing Cloud Engagement.
  2. Enter "Delivery Profiles" in the quick search box, then select Delivery Profiles.
  3. Click an existing profile, or click Create to open the new profile screen.
  4. In the Delivery Information section at the bottom of the screen, check the IP Address field.
    • Account Default: The account's standard IP address is used (or, if only one dedicated IP is assigned, that IP is used).
    • Private: Expand the dropdown to view a list of available dedicated IP addresses assigned to the account.

If you cannot verify your IP address using the steps above, contact Salesforce Support.

 

2. MTA Connection Configuration Change Requests

Configuration changes to Marketing Cloud Engagement's email sending connection settings (MTA) — such as connection pool size, number of sessions, and concurrent connections — are not available through Support.

Important:
Disclosure of connection settings and per-account customization are not supported through the Support channel.
 
Troubleshooting Delivery Issues
The Marketing Cloud Engagement email sending service (MTA) is managed and optimized to handle large-volume sending efficiently and reliably.
If you suspect that current settings are causing delivery delays or blocks, contact Salesforce Support with the following details:
  • Logs
  • Error messages
  • Date and time the issue occurred
