This article describes an issue where new topics are not reflected in Experience Cloud Automatic Topic Assignment even when Data Categories are added to existing Knowledge articles. It explains that automatic assignment does not work for articles that have been assigned topics once, and provides a workaround.
Once a topic has been assigned to a Knowledge article from [Workspaces] > [Content Management], the Automatic Topic Assignment feature will not work even if Data Categories are added later, regardless of the assignment method or if the topics have been deleted. To resolve this, archive and republish the Knowledge article after adding Data Categories to trigger the Automatic Topic Assignment and add the new topics.
