The Domain field in Embedded Service Deployment settings controls which website domains are authorized to display your chat widget. Entering the correct domain format ensures chat loads properly for both Experience Cloud and external sites.
In the “Domain” field of the Embedded Service Deployment, enter the root domain of the website where you will place the chat (excluding the protocol, e.g., https://).
This setting enables the chat on the specified domain and all its subdomains (e.g., help.example.com).
Configuration Procedure
Depending on your site type, enter the domain using the following method:
For Experience Cloud Sites
1. Go to Settings > Domains.
2. Copy the domain of the target Experience Cloud site (e.g., mysite.my.site.com).
3. Paste it into the Domain field of the Embedded Service Deployment (exclude <REDACTED>).
1. Enter the root domain of the external site (e.g.,example.com).
2. This enables chat on the domain and all subdomains. **Add a real-world example:** *"Example: For a site at <REDACTED> enter example.com in the Domain field."
