Order of Initial Submission Actions Changes When Copying an Approval Process

Date de publication: Dec 18, 2025
Description

Explains why the display order of actions in the "Initial Submission Actions" section may differ from the original process when an Approval Process is copied.

Résolution

Cause

There is no guaranteed system execution order for individual actions (such as Field Updates) within an Approval Process. Even if multiple actions are configured, they are not necessarily processed in the order they appear in the list. Because the execution order is not fixed, the display order may be reconfigured when the process is copied.

Resolution

Currently, there is no functionality to manually reorder or fix the display or execution order of actions within an Approval Process.

If your business scenario involves dependencies between actions and requires a specific execution order, please consider the following alternative:

Use Flow

For business logic requiring strict control over execution order, consider using Flow. Flow allows you to explicitly define the sequence of operations based on how you arrange the elements.
