Duplicate Record Sets Are Not Created for Records Matching Duplicate Rule Criteria

게시 일자: Dec 23, 2025
상세 설명

In Salesforce CRM, Duplicate Record Sets might not be created even when records meet the duplicate rule matching criteria. This behavior occurs if the fields included in the matching rule are not modified during the record creation or editing process.

솔루션

Duplicate Record Sets are generated when a record matches the duplicate rule criteria upon creation or editing.

However, duplicate rules are only triggered when a change is detected in the fields defined in the Matching Criteria. Even with update operations using Data Loader, if the values of the matching fields (such as Account Name or Abbreviation) are not changed, the duplicate rule is not triggered, and a Duplicate Record Set is not created.

To force the creation of a Duplicate Record Set for existing records, perform the following steps:

  1. Open one of the duplicate Account records.
  2. Edit the record and change the value of a field used in the matching criteria (e.g., change Account Name to a temporary value like "Account Name_temp").
  3. Click Save.
  4. Edit the record again, revert the field to its original value, and click Save.

By performing this operation, the Duplicate Rule is evaluated as part of the record editing process, and a Duplicate Record Set is created.

추가 자원

The Potential Duplicates component on the record page detects and displays records that may be duplicates of existing data, and its behavior differs from the creation of Duplicate Record Sets.
