Users may observe that Quip documents created on the User object record page in Salesforce do not appear in the Quip Collaboration Metrics report. This behavior is expected and occurs due to a current product limitation.
At present, Quip documents cannot be linked to the User object. As a result, documents created from a User record are not associated with any Salesforce record. If users open such a Quip document and check the Salesforce icon in the top-right corner, they will notice that the icon appears white or blank, indicating that the document is not linked to a Salesforce record.
Additionally, even if a user attempts to manually link the document by selecting “Salesforce” icon on top right corner and searching for the User object, the User object will not appear as an available option. This is because linking or relating Quip documents to the User object is currently not supported.
Since the Quip Collaboration Metrics report only includes documents that are linked to Salesforce records, documents created on the User object are excluded from the report by design. This behavior is a known limitation.
