When you delete a custom field that is still actively mapped to an Account, Contact, or Opportunity field, it causes an inconsistency in the system. As a result, when you navigate to the "Map Lead Fields" screen, the following error is displayed: "We can't display this page. We can't display your custom Lead fields. Please contact Salesforce support."
Please follow the steps below to correct the inconsistent field settings:
Step 1: Identify and Restore the Deleted Field
Navigate to Setup > Object Manager and check the Fields & Relationships for the four related objects: Lead, Account, Contact, and Opportunity.
Click Deleted Fields at the top right of the screen to check for any recently deleted fields.
If you find the relevant field, click Undelete.
Step 2: Remove the Field Mapping
Navigate to Setup > Object Manager > Lead > Fields & Relationships.
Click the Map Lead Fields button. (Restoring the field in Step 1 allows this page to open without the error).
Locate the mapping related to the restored field and clear or remove it.
Step 3: Re-delete the Field
Once the mapping has been successfully removed, you may delete the custom field again if it is no longer needed.
