Certification Maintenance Overview

In order to maintain your Salesforce certification(s), you must successfully complete Trailhead maintenance badges specific to your certification. All certifications require completion of one maintenance badge per year. View the tables below to see your scheduled maintenance cycle.

Refer to the certification maintenance schedule for details regarding maintenance deadlines. When the release badges are published, you can view your certification status on your Trailblazer profile and you will receive an email with all the necessary details to complete your maintenance. While helpful, you should not rely only on these email notifications; it is your responsibility to complete your maintenance badges by the published deadline.

If you do not complete your maintenance badge(s) by the deadline, all certification(s) maintained by that badge will expire, or in some cases become suspended. Please review the Salesforce Certification Expiration Overview for more information.

Keep in mind: If you earn a new, higher-level or advanced certification, you will still be required to complete entry-level maintenance to maintain all of your certifications (e.g. Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator is entry-level and maintains the Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator II).

MuleSoft Certification Maintenance

Certification maintenance is available for the Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Developer, Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Catalyst Consultant, and Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Hyperautomation Developer with the Winter ‘26 maintenance cycle, Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Platform Integration Architect with the Spring ‘25 maintenance cycle, and Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Platform Architect with the Summer ‘25 maintenance cycle.

Tableau Certification Maintenance

Certification maintenance is offered through the Tableau Certification Maintenance (Winter '26) badge for the Salesforce Certified Tableau Architect, Salesforce Certified Tableau Consultant, Salesforce Certified Tableau Data Analyst, and Salesforce Certified Tableau Server Administrator. 

NOTE: Please be sure to complete all four badges included in the Tableau Certification Maintenance (Winter '26) module. 

Accredited Professional Certification Maintenance

We’re working hard to revamp the entire certification maintenance program, including the Accredited Professional (AP) program. At this time, you don’t need to take any action to maintain your AP certification status. We will share more details about the new maintenance plan when they’re available.

Maintenance Badges Required by Certification

NOTE: Salesforce Foundations certifications do not have any required maintenance. These certifications will never expire once earned.
