Salesforce Accredited Datorama Associate FAQ

As of October 27, 2021, the Salesforce Accredited Datorama Associate is no longer be available for registration on the Webassessor platform. The credential has moved to the Partner Learning Camp.

The Salesforce Accredited Datorama Associate credential is designed for individuals who have technical implementation experience with the Datorama platform. This exam is intended for Datorama partners who completed the prerequisites: 3 online platform training courses (Admin - Platform Fundamentals, Admin - Platform Intermediate & Admin - Platform Advanced).

Preparing for the exam

Q: Who should consider becoming Datorama Accredited?
A: Individuals who would like to demonstrate their technical expertise of the Datorama platform and who have the following experience should consider becoming accredited:
  • Technical experience developing solutions on the Datorama platform
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL, and SQL
  • Experience with BI implementations, preferably in a digital marketing environment
  • Experience with data analysis & data QA
  • Basic coding skills - if/else, for loops
  • Familiarity with ads and marketing data analytics
  • Client-facing skills and ability to succinctly explain technical concepts
  • Ability to run Discovery sessions to understand customer needs and translate them into technical requirements
Q: What topics are covered in the Datorama Accreditation exam?
A: The following topics will be covered:
  • Datorama Data Model (Data Stream Types, Relationship between the different entities, Overarching Entities)
  • Data Streams Advanced Settings (Update Attributes, Override Hierarchies)
  • Data Harmonization Features & Best Practices
  • Calculated Measurements
  • Media Cost Center
  • CRM Data within Datorama
Q: What is the best way to prepare for the exam?
A: All of the knowledge needed to pass the exam is taught within our online University Course. The last step in this course also links to project simulation exercises that are highly recommended to prepare for the exam. Project implementation best practices are tested on the exam and taught in the university course. Simply understanding the Datorama platform will not be sufficient knowledge to pass the exam so please go through the University Course materials. A Datorama login is required to access the University Course.

Q: What are the exam prerequisites?
A: The exam prerequisites are as follows:
  • 3 online platform training courses need to be completed prior to taking this exam - email Datorama_Partners_Training@salesforce.com to request access
    • Admin - Platform Fundamentals
    • Admin - Platform Intermediate
    • Admin - Platform Advanced
  • Take the Virtual Bootcamp for Partners University Course which contains training for all exam content
  • Pass the Bootcamp Exam for Partners which serves as a prerequisite exam - passing this prerequisite exam will allow you to register for the Datorama Associate exam
If you do not complete the prerequisite work, Webassessor will not give you the option of registering for the exam.

Q: What is the structure of the exam?
A: The exam will consist of multiple-choice questions with a mix of theoretical questions as well as technical questions which require you to log into the Datorama platform and complete exercises. Answers derived from exercises you perform in the Datorama platform will need to be input into a multiple-choice exam. 

About the Datorama Accreditation Program

Q: If I held the Datorama Accreditation, when is my credential retired?
A: The Salesforce Accredited Datorama Associate credential was retired on February 1, 2023. For Trailblazers who earned this credential, statuses will display as retired on Trailblazer.me profiles.

Q: Does this accreditation replace the Datorama Solution Architect certification?
A: Yes, it will replace it. We will no longer issue the Solution Architect certification going forward, but we will continue to honor the achievement for those who have previously attained the certification.

Q: Will project simulations continue to be used for the new accreditation?
A: No, we will retire project simulations as a way to become accredited or certified. The multiple-choice exam in Webassessor will be the only way by which an individual can become accredited.

Q: Is there still a requirement for someone from my company to pass this accreditation in order for my company to deliver customer projects?
A: Yes, a minimum of 1 individual per region must obtain the Datorama Associate accreditation for your company to be approved to deliver Datorama projects to customers.

Q: Will this accreditation count towards the Partner Trailblazer Score?
A: Yes. The Datorama Associate accreditation now counts for 1 point towards a partner's Consulting Partner Trailblazer Score. The accreditation also counts towards the minimum 2 credential requirement to go from provisional to registered status in the Salesforce Partner Program.
