Architect Evaluation FAQs

Q: Are there any prerequisites to register for the Architect Evaluation?
A: All candidates must earn the Application Architect and System Architect certifications in order to register for the evaluation. It is highly recommended that candidates also enroll for Prepare for your Technical Architect certification (CTA601). Please note that candidates must be ready to appear for their evaluation in two to four weeks after they register. If they are not prepared and request to push the date, the Architect Evaluation will be canceled and the candidate will need to re-register when they are prepared.

Q: Is there any recommended course I should attend before registering for the Architect Evaluation?
A: Yes, Prepare for your Technical Architect certification (CTA601) is highly recommended for all candidates to take as you are preparing. This will help you understand how to approach this certification and the preparation needed.

Q: How do I schedule the Architect Evaluation?
A: Once all prerequisites are met, you can register for the Architect Evaluation through Trailhead Academy. Once registered, the candidate will receive an email from our team with next steps. The candidate should be prepared to take the evaluation within the following two to four weeks after registration.  If not prepared or if the date is requested to be pushed, the Architect Evaluation will be canceled.

Q: What happens if I pass the Architect Evaluation?
A: Once you have successfully completed the evaluation, you will be eligible to sit for the Architect Review Board Exam. The Technical Architect team will be in touch to schedule a date and pre-meeting in the next two to four months depending on availability. Congratulations!

 

Q: What happens if I do not pass the Architect Evaluation?
A: In case of an unsuccessful evaluation, feedback will be provided to you with prescriptive next steps. After six months, you will be eligible to re-register for the evaluation.

Architect Journey FAQs 

Q: Do I have to complete all the certifications in the Architect Journey?
A: No. The certifications you pursue depend on your own personal goals. You may be working in an Architect role today and decide to work toward the Certified Technical Architect (CTA) certification, which requires achieving the prerequisite certifications. Alternatively, you may be a Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator or Platform Developer looking to up-level your skills by pursuing an Architect certification. No matter your role or career goals, the Salesforce Architect certifications portfolio will help you grow your skills and expertise!

 

Q: How do I maintain my Architect certifications?
A: To learn more, visit Maintaining Your Architect certifications. You must complete the entire Architect Maintenance module to remain current with any one of your Architect certifications. Please review the details in the previous link.

Q: Where can I find out more about the Architect Evaluation and Architect Review Board Exam expectations?A: Please review each Architect certification's exam guide to learn more about expectations. To access the exam guides, visit Trailhead Academy homepage, click Certifications and then select Find a Certification to get to the Salesforce certification catalog. Choose Architect in the Role filter to find the Architect exam you’re looking for. You will then land on the exam's detail page, where you will find its exam guide.  

Q: What are the steps to qualify for the Certified Technical Architect Certification?
A: All candidates must have current Application Architect and System Architect certifications and successfully complete the Architect Evaluation. For more information, please visit the Architect Evaluation and Architect Review Board Exam tiles in the certification catalog for more information.

Q: Can I take any of the two exams virtually or in person?
A: 

• The Architect Evaluation is only available online.

• The Architect Review Board Exam is currently taking place online until further notice. If you have any questions, reach out to Salesforce Help.
  
  

Q: What is the reschedule & cancellation policy for the Certified Technical Architect Certification?
A: 

1. Architect Evaluation: If this evaluation needs to be rescheduled, and not taken in the following two to four weeks, it will be canceled. You may reschedule or cancel your online-proctored registration without incurring an additional fee with a minimum of 72 hours advance notice of the scheduled exam start time. Please note that 72 hours is not three business days; it is 72 hours prior to the scheduled exam start time.

2. Architect Review Board Exam: Please contact the Architect Program team via email as soon as possible. If it needs to be rescheduled, it can be done four weeks prior to the scheduled exam through the Architect Program team. You may reschedule or cancel your online-proctored registration without incurring an additional fee with a minimum of 30 days advance notice of the scheduled exam start time.  

3. If you reschedule or cancel within the times mentioned for your scheduled exam start time for either part of this certification, there will be no rescheduling or cancellation fee.  If you do not complete the exam at the scheduled time and did not contact Salesforce Help in advance of your exam start date and time, you will be considered a no-show and charged the full exam fee.  Some exceptions may apply for individual circumstances.

 

Q: Is the Architect Bundle still active?
A: The Architect Bundle and any associated access or vouchers were deactivated in June 2021 and are no longer available.
