Multi-Step Certifications Expiration
Retired Certifications
In order to maintain your Salesforce certifications, you must complete release-specific Trailhead badges. If you don’t complete your required maintenance by the due date, all of the certifications maintained by that badge will expire.
For example, if your Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator certification expires, your Salesforce Certified Platform Advanced Administrator II and Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant certifications that require the Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator as a prerequisite will also expire.
If this happens, you must re-earn each certification individually by completing their full, proctored exams. For instance, if your Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator, Salesforce Certified Platform Advanced Administrator II, and Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant certifications all expire, you must take each of those exams again. Re-earning only the Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator certification will not restore the other certifications.
For more information, visit the Salesforce certification maintenance program.
You can view your certification status in your Trailblazer Profile for the most up-to-date information. In your Trailblazer profile, you’ll see all of your earned certifications as well as their status and required maintenance once available.
If your certification is at risk of expiring, you will receive email notifications reminding you to complete your maintenance. Emails will be sent to the email address associated with your Trailblazer Profile. You shouldn’t rely on these email notifications alone; it’s your responsibility to complete your maintenance by the published due date.

B2C Solution Architect Certifications Expiration
If your Salesforce Certified Platform Integration Architect, Salesforce Certified Platform Data Architect, or Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder certifications expire and you also hold the Salesforce Certified B2C Solution Architect certification, the Salesforce Certified B2C Solution Architect certification will also expire. You will then have to re-certify as a Salesforce Certified Platform Integration Architect, Salesforce Certified Platform Data Architect, or Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder AND pass the Salesforce Certified B2C Solution Architect exam to be certified.
B2B Solution Architect Certification Expiration
If your Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder, Salesforce Certified Platform Developer, Salesforce Certified Platform Data Architect or Salesforce Certified Platform Sharing and Visibility Architect certification(s) expire and you also hold the Salesforce Certified B2B Solution Architect certification, the B2B Solution Architect certification will also expire. You will then have to re-certify as a Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder, Salesforce Certified Platform Developer, Salesforce Certified Platform Data Architect or Salesforce Certified Platform Sharing and Visibility Architect AND pass the Salesforce Certified B2B Solution Architect exam to be certified.
Application and System Architect Certification Expiration
If any prerequisites for the Salesforce Certified Application Architect or Salesforce Certified System Architect certification expire, the Salesforce Certified Application Architect or Salesforce Certified System Architect will also expire. When you re-earn the expired certification, the Salesforce Certified Application Architect and/or the Salesforce Certified System Architect certifications will automatically be re-earned as well.
Technical Architect Certification Expiration
If either of your Salesforce Certified Application Architect or Salesforce Certified System Architect certifications expire and you also hold the Salesforce Certified Technical Architect certification, the Salesforce Certified Technical Architect certification will expire. You will then have to re-certify as a Salesforce Certified Application Architect or Salesforce Certified System Architect.
Once you have re-earned the prerequisites, you will have to re-earn the Salesforce Certified Technical Architect certification by completing:
As the Salesforce platform and products evolve, the Salesforce certification program may retire certifications to align with current product offerings. When a Salesforce certification is retired, it’s no longer recognized in the program, displayed on the verification page, or included in Trailblazing Partner Scores. Certifications retired from Accredited Professional and MuleSoft programs prior to being migrated to the Salesforce certification program will not display on Trailblazer profiles.
In the event of a certification retiring, Salesforce will provide advance notice and, if applicable, recommended pathway for anyone who holds the certification.
The following certifications have retired and are no longer recognized in the program:
