Salesforce Certification Online Proctoring Technical Requirements (Mac Operating System)

Learn the technical requirements for your Mac operating system to successfully complete an online-proctored Salesforce certification exam. If you will be testing with a Windows operating system, see Salesforce Certification Online Proctoring Technical Requirements (Windows Operating System).

Please review the OnVUE Candidate Technical Requirements PDF to ensure your Mac operating system meets the recommended specifications for taking an online-proctored Salesforce certification exam.

Mac System Requirements

  • Operating system: macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later — beta versions not supported
  • RAM: 4 GB minimum
  • Browser: Chrome (latest) or Firefox (latest)
  • Webcam: Built-in FaceTime camera or compatible USB webcam (1280×720 minimum)
  • Internet: Stable broadband, minimum 1 Mbps upload and download

Before You Start Your Exam

  • Disable all VPN software including Zscaler, GlobalProtect, and Cisco AnyConnect.
Pearson OnVUE (Pearson's online proctoring platform) cannot run alongside VPN.
  • Close all other applications, especially screen recorders,
Zoom, Teams, and any security software that monitors screen activity.
  • Plug your laptop into power — battery-only mode can cause issues.
  • Disconnect any extra monitors — OnVUE requires a single screen.

  • Run the OnVUE system test at least 24 hours before your exam.

NOTE: Verify exact specifications against the Pearson VUE requirements PDF linked
in the article — requirements are updated periodically.
