Screen Flow Superbadges: Trailhead Challenge Help

Introduction

This help article is designed to provide resources to complete the superbadge challenges. It also offers links to useful articles and details various troubleshooting techniques.

    About superbadges

Superbadges assess your understanding and ability to apply key concepts, tools, and methodologies across Salesforce roles in a hands-on practice environment. These technical assessments help bridge the gap between what you’ve learned and how you can apply those skills in real-world scenarios. Completing a superbadge shows your ability to work on Salesforce implementations, demonstrates your expertise, and can even help with certification preparation.

How is a superbadge different compared to modules and projects on Trailhead?

Modules introduce you to specific topics in bite-sized units and projects give you hands-on practice with Salesforce technologies via step-by-step instructions. Superbadges present the requirements in a narrative format with multiple hands-on challenges. Trailblazers need to complete the requirements by configuring a technical solution in a special Salesforce Developer Edition org. Superbadges are designed to test your Salesforce skills and abilities.

    Accessibility considerations for this superbadge

    Flow Builder
Screen reader accessibility and keyboard functionality for Flow Builder has improved greatly in recent Salesforce Releases. Both the freeform and auto-layout interfaces support keyboard-only operation. For more accessibility information on Flow Builder, check out:

    Checkboxes
The checkboxes for some security requirements may not be correctly labeled in certain interfaces. When toggling checkboxes for the security requirements:

    • Use the CONTROL F find command to search for relevant text on the page rather than relying on quick navigation to read the names of the checkboxes.
    • Review the text surrounding the checkbox to ensure you're toggling the desired control.

    Custom buttons
Trailblazers who use screen readers may want to note that the enhanced page layout editor behavior presents accessibility challenges. To add a custom button, disable the enhanced page layout editor and switch to Salesforce Classic. Refer to this article, Adding Custom Detail Buttons to the Page with a Screen Reader, for more information.

    Decision elements

When working with Decision elements in Flow Builder, the Items list containing the outcomes presents some unexpected behaviors for screen readers. General workarounds for JAWS and NVDA are as follows:

    JAWS Users

Attempting to enter the list directly with forms mode loses focus and moves focus out of the list.

To access the Items list containing the decision outcomes, perform the following steps:

    • A. Turn JAWS virtual cursor off and navigate to the Items list using TAB and SHIFT TAB.
    • B. Once focused on the list of outcomes, use the arrow keys to move to the desired outcome.
    • C. Press ENTER to select an outcome from the Items list.
    • D. TAB into the Label field to verify the correct outcome has been selected.

    NVDA Users

    • A. Place focus on the Items list and manually enter focus mode.
    • B. Once focused on the list of outcomes, use the arrow keys to move to the desired outcome.
    • C. Press ENTER to select an outcome from the Items list.
    • D. TAB into the Label field to verify the correct outcome has been selected.

Resources for the context of this superbadge

Communities around the world are grappling with teen mental health challenges. We hope this superbadge assessment will enable Trailblazers to leverage technology to help meet local needs.

The following is from the journal Nature, highlighting the urgent need for better resources and support for young people experiencing anxiety and depression.

“Worldwide, at least 13% of people between the ages of 10 and 19 live with a diagnosed mental-health disorder, according to the latest State of the World’s Children report... It reveals that adolescent mental health is highly complex, understudied — and underfunded.
Anxiety and depression constitute more than 40% of mental-health disorders among young people (those aged 10–19). UNICEF also reports that, worldwide, suicide is the fourth most-common cause of death (after road injuries, tuberculosis and interpersonal violence) among adolescents (aged 15–19). In eastern Europe and central Asia, suicide is the leading cause of death for young people in that age group — and it’s the second-highest cause in western Europe and North America.”

Need more help? The Trailblazer Community awaits!

You may remember when superbadge collaboration wasn't allowed, and we're grateful for everyone's commitment to independent work when that policy was in place. These days, however, you're welcome to reach out to the community when you're stuck, and you're encouraged to answer others' questions to help unblock your fellow Trailblazers. So go ahead and ask for help, but don't forget that a superbadge is an assessment, and you'll get the most value out of it if you try to do as much as possible on your own. And as always, remember that superbadge orgs and full solutions should never be shared.
