  1. Go to elearning.tableau.com.
  2. Click the Forgot Password link under the Sign In button.

Q: I’m having trouble signing in. What can I do?

Q: When I open a Tableau Desktop workbook, how do I handle this error message?
"Worksheet Unavailable The <file name>.xls or .xlsx data source is not supported on Tableau Desktop."

A: This workbook was created with an earlier version of Tableau Desktop, which used a legacy connection to Microsoft Excel files. Microsoft no longer supports legacy technology. Starting with Tableau 2020.2, legacy connections to Microsoft Excel files are no longer supported. However, you can upgrade the data source and continue working with the data source and workbook. To do this:

  1. Open the workbook and click the Data menu.
  2. Click Upgrade Data Sources...
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click OK.

Q: How can I fix missing audio or intermittent audio during demonstration lessons when using Safari on my Mac?

  1. Open https://elearning.tableau.com.
  2. Go to Safari > Preferences.
  3. On the Websites tab, select the Auto-Play category. The elearning.tableau.com site should appear in the list.
  4. Set the menu for elearning.tableau.com to Allow All Auto-Play.
  5. Optionally, set the menu, When Visiting Other Websites > Allow All Auto-Play.
  6. Close the dialog box.
  7. Refresh the Tableau Learning tab.

A: To complete a hands-on activity using a starter .twbx or data source file such as an .xlsx, you need to first download the file to a location on your local computer. Then, follow these steps depending on the version of Tableau you’re using.
