Superbadges are hands-on, scenario-based technical assessments on Trailhead that let you demonstrate your Salesforce skills by solving real-world challenges. Unlike other content on Trailhead, superbadges do not provide step-by-step instructions. You are expected to apply your technical knowledge, think critically, pay close attention to detail, and problem-solve your way to a solution, just like you would on the job.
A superbadge is a practical technical assessment that puts your Salesforce knowledge to work. Instead of answering multiple-choice questions, you complete real configuration tasks in a hands-on environment. Each superbadge is focused on a specific product area or role and takes between one and three hours to complete.
Superbadges are built from real-world use cases developed in partnership with customers, partners, MVPs, and Salesforce employees. The goal is not to test whether you have memorized every detail, it’s to assess whether you can apply your skills to get the job done.
We have redesigned the superbadge experience with every kind of learner in mind. The updated format makes it easier to focus, stay oriented, and work through challenges without unnecessary friction.
Here is what you can expect:
This updated experience is rolling out now, with more superbadges converting soon. You may notice that some superbadges reflect the new format while others have not yet been updated. We are working to complete the rollout as quickly as possible.
If you are actively working through a superbadge when it transitions to the updated experience, your completed challenges will be honored. However, the updated format includes a new unit where your org is validated. You may need to complete that unit before your superbadge completion is fully reflected. If you have questions or run into an issue, use the Superbadge Challenge Help button on the right side of the superbadge.
All superbadges you have earned will continue to appear on your Trailblazer profile. All points you have earned are retained.
The term does not refer to size or length. It refers to the higher level of technical skill required to complete these assessments compared to other hands-on content on Trailhead. Superbadges mirror the kind of work you would encounter in an actual Salesforce implementation. The focused, modular format makes it easier for you to target the skills most relevant to your specific role, industry, or goals.
We are continuing to invest in the superbadge experience. Here is a preview of what is on the horizon for select superbadges:
We are always looking for subject matter experts to help develop and test superbadges. If you are interested, follow this process to express your interest.
