Change the Salesforce Backup Region

Description

Salesforce Backup stores your backup data in a specific geographic region for data residency and compliance purposes. If your organization's compliance requirements change—for example, if your company expands to the EU and needs GDPR-compliant backup storage—you may need to change your backup region.

Important: Changing regions requires uninstalling and reinstalling the package, which permanently deletes all existing backup data."

Résolution

To request a region change via Salesforce Support, please have a System Admin log a case containing the following mandatory information:

Request to Change Backup Region

  • Include target Organization ID:
  • Do you acknowledge that all current backup data will be deleted due to the region change?: (Yes / No)
  • Settings for "Salesforce BAR LMA Support" login access for the System Administrator user: (Granted / Not Granted)
    • Please set the access duration to 1 month.
  • Settings for "Salesforce.com Support" login access for the System Administrator user: (Granted / Not Granted)
    • Please set the access duration to 1 month.
  • Username of the System Administrator who granted the two login access permissions above:
    • Please provide this in email address format.
