Salesforce is retiring the Essentials edition in late 2026 to help small business customers get the most value from our products. We are consolidating resources to deliver a superior, more scalable offering that grows with your business. By moving to Pro Suite, you gain access to a more modern, robust platform designed to support your company's future success.
Pro Suite is Salesforce's upgraded edition that provides advanced capabilities beyond the basics of Essentials. It is built on the full Salesforce platform, allowing you to streamline operations, deepen customer relationships, and scale as your business grows.
Upgrading from Essentials to Pro Suite unlocks several advanced capabilities:
Tailor Salesforce to your specific business needs with custom objects, fields, and advanced automation tools like Flow to eliminate repetitive tasks.
Access sales forecasting, quoting, and omni-channel support routing to close deals faster and resolve customer cases more efficiently.
Use email campaigns and direct payment links for a seamless buying experience.
Pro Suite is built on the full Salesforce platform, allowing you to easily scale and add more advanced features or integrations as your business grows without needing to migrate again.
Leverage Einstein capabilities to gain deeper insights into your data, predict trends, and make smarter decisions.
Extend the power of your Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system with access to thousands of pre-built apps and integrations available on the Salesforce AppExchange.
We are committed to honoring your current pricing. You will upgrade to the Pro Suite edition and keep your existing Essentials pricing for as long as you continue your Salesforce subscription. This ensures you get all the new value and features of Pro Suite without increased costs.
The migration process from Salesforce Essentials to Pro Suite is designed to be seamless and automated. Salesforce handles the technical upgrade while preserving all your data and customizations, including reports. You will be guided through a simple consent flow within the product.
You will see a prompt within your Essentials org asking you to review the migration details and Pro Suite upgrade information.
Clicking the notification opens the Pro Suite setting modal. Review the terms and provide your consent to upgrade to Pro Suite.
Once consent is provided, Salesforce handles the technical migration in the background, ensuring no disruption to your business data or operations. The migration can take up to 7 calendar days.
Customers will be presented with an in-app Pro Suite consent modal in a phased approach:
Early adopters and customers who wish to upgrade sooner can request access beginning in March 2026.
The consent modal will roll out to all remaining Salesforce Essentials organizations between June and July 2026.
Please ensure you have completed your migration before August 18, 2026, the retirement date for Salesforce Essentials, to avoid any interruption in service.
All your existing data, customizations, reports, and configurations are preserved during the automated migration process. There is no data loss or downtime during the upgrade.
