Hyperlinks Not Displaying Correctly in Agentforce Agent Responses

In some cases, hyperlinks included in a Knowledge Article do not appear as clickable links in the Agentforce agent’s response. Instead, they are displayed as plain text or are not processed correctly by the system.

This behavior occurs due to the following reasons:

Plain Text URLs Not Clickable
If the URL is added directly as plain text (for example: https://example.com), the Agentforce agent does not recognize it as a clickable hyperlink.

Hyperlinks not preserved during response generation
If the Prompt Template instructions do not explicitly mention preserving hyperlinks, the Agentforce agent can remove or modify the links while generating the output.

Chunks not created for hyperlinks
The system does not create chunks for content where the link is present as hyperlinks. When chunks are not generated for that links of the Knowledge Article, the Agentforce agent cannot retrieve that content or return the link in the response.

Since hyperlinks are not currently supported, even if a plain text direct link is chunked, it will not automatically appear as a clickable hyperlink in the response.

One possible approach to help the Agentforce agent recognize and display hyperlinks correctly is to format them using the HTML anchor tag structure:

<a href="https://example.com">Link Text</a>

Using this format can help the Agentforce agent interpret the link and present it as a clickable hyperlink in the response.

It is one of the recommended approaches, and you can also try providing additional instructions in the Agentforce prompt or configuration to guide the agent to generate or preserve hyperlinks in the response.
