Issue:

During the Visual Remote Assistant package installation or update in a sandbox environment, users encounter a persistent error at Step 4 (Account Activation):

"We were unable to register your account properly, please check the following prerequisites."

All prerequisite checkboxes appear marked, configurations have been verified, but the activation cannot complete. This prevents the creation of the VRA technical user and blocks further installation progress.

Symptoms:

  • Account Activation step fails during VRA installation/upgrade
  • Error message appears without specific details about which prerequisite is missing
  • All configuration steps appear correctly completed
  • Issue occurs specifically in sandbox and production environments with IP restrictions enabled

The Account Activation failure is typically caused by IP restrictions on the user profile that prevent the Techsee service from communicating with your Salesforce sandbox org to complete the activation process.

Step 1: Verify Required Techsee IP Addresses

The Visual Remote Assistant package requires communication with Techsee IP addresses. Ensure the following IP addresses are added to your profile's trusted IP range:
For AWS Europe Region:

  • 34.240.157.183

For AWS North America Region:

  • 54.83.1.114
  • 3.23.41.216

Step 2: Add IP Addresses to Your Profile

  1. Navigate to Setup > Users > Profiles
  2. Select the profile being used for VRA installation (typically System Administrator)
  3. Scroll to the Login IP Ranges section
  4. Click New to add each IP address:
    1. Start IP Address: Enter the Techsee IP
    2. End IP Address: Enter the same Techsee IP
  5. Click Save
  6. Repeat for all required IP addresses listed above

Step 3: Retry Account Activation

  1. Return to the VRA Visual Configuration Panel
  2. Restart the Account Activation process from Step 1
  3. Complete all prerequisite steps
  4. Proceed to Step 4 (Account Activation)
  5. Verify that the account activates successfully

Step 4: Verify Successful Activation

After completing the above steps, confirm:

  • The Account Activation step completes without errors
  • The VRA technical user is created
  • You can access the Visual Configuration Panel
  • All features are available for configuration

If the issue persists after adding IP addresses:

  1. Verify Org-Wide IP Settings:
    1. Check if there are organization-wide IP restrictions in Setup > Security Controls > Network Access
    2. Add the Techsee IP addresses to the trusted IP range at the org level if needed
  2. Check Connected App Settings:
    1. Verify the VRA Connected App has the correct settings
    2. Ensure IP Relaxation is set appropriately
  3. Review Profile Permissions:
    1. Confirm the profile has System Administrator permissions
    2. Verify API access is enabled
  4. Browser Cache and Cookies:
    1. Clear browser cache and cookies
    2. Try using an incognito/private browsing window
