Vertical Axis Values Become Misaligned When Setting Independent Axis Ranges for Each Row in Tableau Desktop 2025.1

Description

In Tableau Desktop version 2025.1.x, when configuring the axis to use "Independent axis ranges for each row or column", the vertical axis values become misaligned and do not display correctly. This behavior is not observed in Tableau Desktop version 2025.2 or later.

Cause:

This behavior is related to a known issue. For more details, see the Known Issue page: W-21534388.

Resolution

To resolve or workaround this issue, please follow one of the options below.

Option 1: Upgrade Tableau Desktop

Upgrade Tableau Desktop to version 2025.2 or later. This is the permanent solution for this defect.

Option 2: Show Indicator for Special Values (Workaround)

  1. Right-click the axis in the view, or the measure (green pill) on the [Rows] or [Columns] shelf.
  2. Select [Format...] from the menu.
  3. In the Format pane on the left, select the [Pane] tab.
  4. Locate the [Special Values (e.g., Nulls)] section at the bottom.
  5. Open the [Marks] drop-down menu and select [Show Indicator].
