Salesforce is migrating Tableau Cloud Manager (TCM) to Hyperforce to provide enhanced security, expanded compliance, and improved regional availability, more reliable, and scalable experience. During the migration, TCM will enter a read-only mode. While customers’ sites will remain online and core functionality will be preserved, certain administrative actions will be restricted.
Timeline: Saturday May 16th 4AM UTC to Saturday May 16th 12PM UTC
This maintenance primarily impacts Cloud Administrators and Site Administrators, whose administrative capabilities will be temporarily constrained. End users are not impacted, as there is no disruption to site content or the functionality of the site itself.
Most core functionality will remain available during the maintenance window:
For Cloud Admins: They can successfully log in to Tableau Cloud Manager and view existing user and site data.
Exception: If a Tableau Cloud Manager still requires the one-time acceptance of the Terms & Conditions dialog, the Cloud Admin will not be able to accept it during this maintenance window. They will not be able to proceed to using Tableau Cloud Manager until Terms & Conditions are accepted.
For Site Admins and End Users: They can log in to their Tableau Cloud sites and interact with all content functionality as normal (view/create/modify). All scheduled background tasks, such as extract refreshes and email subscriptions, will continue to run normally.
Admins will be able to attempt the following operations, but they will not succeed and will result in errors:
For Cloud Admins: They cannot add, modify, or delete users and sites. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) resets will be completely unavailable.
For Site Admins: You cannot add, modify, or delete users. Furthermore, any updates related to authentication settings will be unavailable.
Plan administrative tasks in advance: Administrators are advised to plan any administrative tasks that require restricted functions—such as tenant provisioning, user and site management (adding, modifying, or deleting), and MFA resets—accounting for the maintenance window.
Monitor the Salesforce Trust Site: Admins should monitor the Salesforce Trust Site for real-time updates on when the migration begins and when normal operations resume.
Reach out for support: If there are any questions or a need for more information, administrators can reach out to Support.
