Product Consumed Not Visible to End Users on Work Order Despite Having Object Permissions

The issue observed was that the Product Consumed records were not visible to end users on the Work Order record page, even though the affected users had Read/Write access to the Product Consumed object. While System Administrators were able to view the Product Consumed records successfully, end users could not see them. Additionally, no error messages were displayed during the process. This behaviour was identified in the Field Service Lightning (FSL) environment involving the Product Consumed and Work Order objects.

 

 

解決策

The issue occurred because the "Field Service Standard" system permission was missing from the affected user profiles. This permission is required for end users to view Product Consumed records on Work Orders, even when the users already have object-level Read/Write access.

Please note that this behaviour can impact any Field Service profile where the "Field Service Standard" permission is not enabled.


Steps to resolve:

  1. Navigate to Setup → Profiles
  2. Open the affected user profile(s)
  3. Edit System Permissions
  4. Enable "Field Service Standard" permission
  5. Save the profile


Recommended Alternative:

Instead of modifying profiles directly, you may assign a Permission Set containing the "Field Service Standard" system permission to the affected users. This is the recommended approach, as it helps avoid direct profile modifications.


Validation Steps

  1. Log in as the affected end user
  2. Navigate to a Work Order record page
  3. Verify that the Product Consumed related list (Spare & Labour tab) is now visible
  4.  4. Confirm that Product Consumed records display correctly
