Comparison and Considerations

The differences between automatic and manual migration are as follows:The differences between automatic and manual migration are as follows:

Timing

Automatic Migration: Determined by Salesforce; dates cannot be specified.
Manual Migration: Can be performed at any time by the user.

Differences

Automatic Migration: No manual effort required.
Manual Migration: You can schedule the migration for your desired time slot or conduct pre-verification in a Sandbox.
*To perform Sandbox verification without disrupting an active production custom domain, a dedicated custom domain (subdomains allowed) must be prepared for testing purposes.
*When operating a custom domain (e.g., faq.example.com), we recommend setting up a dedicated domain like test.example.com for Sandbox testing.

Notifications

Automatic Migration: Salesforce admins are notified via email of the scheduled date/time prior to migration.
Manual Migration:
Can be performed at your convenience, independent of the automatic schedule. (You will be notified by email when "Activation" is ready to be triggered.)

Required Action

Automatic Migration: None.
Manual Migration: Requires checking the domain settings and clicking Activate.
