When using the Tableau Table dashboard extension on Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server, the "Show and Hide Columns" feature may not respond when clicked by certain users.
This behavior typically occurs with users assigned the Viewer, Explorer, or Creator site roles. In contrast, Site Administrators can use the feature without issues.
This issue arises because the user lacks Web Edit permissions for the target workbook or view. To save changes to column visibility within the extension, editing permissions are necessary.
Note: Users with a Viewer license cannot receive Web Edit permissions due to product licensing specifications.
To resolve this issue, ensure the user has a compatible site role and the necessary permissions. Follow these steps:
