When you install the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) Reports & Dashboards package through MetaDeploy, the installation fails with "Report is Obsolete" errors.
This happens when the "Allow Reports" setting is disabled on NPSP managed objects that the reports reference.
The sObjects used in the reports need to have the "Allow Reports" toggle turned on for the installation to succeed.
You see errors:
Error: Report is Obsolete
Update of Report NPSP_Dashboard_Reports/[ReportName]: Error: Report is Obsolete
Or dashboard errors:
Error: In field: report - no Report named NPSP_Dashboard_Reports/[ReportName] found
The specific reports that fail depend on which objects have "Allow Reports" disabled in your organization.
Identify the affected object
Look at your MetaDeploy error message
Note which reports failed
Identify which sObjects those reports use
Enable "Allow Reports"
Go to Setup → Object Manager
Search for and click on the affected object
Click Edit
Check the box for "Allow Reports"
Click Save
Repeat for all affected objects
If multiple reports failed, enable "Allow Reports" on all objects referenced by those reports
Retry the installation
Return to MetaDeploy and retry the installation
The installation should now complete successfully
