Updates to EmailPreferencesAutoBcc field on the User object attempted within a before trigger context are silently ignored and will not be persisted.

솔루션

As a workaround, consider to use one of the following approaches:

Use after trigger
Use an @future annotated method to perform the update in a separate asynchronous transaction
