Unable to edit using 'Edit Contact Roles' on Opportunity related list

The Edit Contact Roles button on the Opportunity related list does not allow users to modify existing roles or add new Contact Roles; instead, only the role count is updated when using the Add option.

Steps to reproduce :

  1. Open Opportunity record 
  2. Click Related or Contact
  3. On Contact Roles related list, click 'Edit Contact Roles'

Edit is unable on the contact role list.

This behavior occurs when inline editing on list views is disabled for the organization.

Solución

To verify whether inline editing is disabled in your organization, open any list view and attempt to edit a field directly inline.

If inline editing is not available, contact Salesforce Support to request enabling the inline editing feature for list views from the backend.

Alternatively, Contact Roles can be edited individually by accessing each record through the list view dropdown menu.
