Troubleshooting: Subscriptions and Contract Line Items Not Generating

Description

This article provides a troubleshooting checklist for when Subscription records for Contracts or Contract Line Items for Service Contracts fail to create upon contracting an Opportunity or Order.

Résolution
To resolve this, ensure the following conditions are met for every line item expected to be a subscription or contract line item:

  1. Product Configuration: The source Product record must have the Subscription Pricing field (e.g., Fixed Price or Percent of Total) populated.
  2. Quote Line Validation: The Quote Line must inherit this Subscription Pricing value. If it is null on the Quote Line, a Subscription/Contract Line Item will not be created.
  3. Order Product Sync (Crucial for CLI): If contracting from an Order, the Order Product (Order Item) must also have the Subscription Pricing value populated.
Contract Generation Failure: If the Contract or Service Contract record itself is not created (due to Apex job failures, background processing errors, or missing Start Dates), the related Subscriptions and Line Items will also fail to generate.
