Platform Event Delivery Delay During Platform-Event-Triggered Flow Deployment

Data pubblicazione: May 5, 2026
Descrizione

During metadata deployment (for example, via VS Code or Metadata API) involving a Platform Event–Triggered Flow, event processing behavior is temporarily impacted if the deployment includes changes to that flow.

While deployment is in progress:

  • The flow may not actively subscribe to platform events.
  • Platform events published during this time are not processed immediately.

After deployment completes:

  • The updated version of the flow is automatically activated.
  • The flow resumes subscribing to the configured platform events.
  • Events published during the deployment window are processed after activation.

This behavior ensures controlled activation of flow changes and maintains system stability during deployments. Although no platform events are lost, a short delay in processing may occur depending on the deployment duration and complexity.

Risoluzione

This is expected behavior.

Platform events published during a Platform Event–Triggered Flow deployment may experience a temporary delay in processing. Once deployment is complete and the flow is activated, all relevant events will be processed as expected.

To minimize impact:

  • Avoid deploying changes to active Platform Event–Triggered Flows during peak event traffic periods.
  • Plan deployments during low-traffic windows when possible.
