Pipeline Inspection: Red Clock (Stale Deal) Icon Not Displaying on the Next Step field in the pipeline inspection setup page.

Pipeline Inspection relies on Historical Trending snapshot data to evaluate whether a tracked field (such as Next Step) has remained unchanged beyond a configured stale threshold. If a Historical Trending filter is applied to the Opportunity object, any records excluded by that filter are omitted from trending snapshots. With no snapshot data available, Pipeline Inspection has no basis to flag the field as stale — resulting in the red clock icon not appearing at all.

Common Indicators :

  • The red clock icon is missing next to Next Step (or other tracked fields) in Pipeline Inspection
  • Historical Trending is enabled and Next Step is selected for the Opportunity object
  • No error messages are shown — the icon is simply absent


Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Enable Historical Trending for the Opportunity object and select the Next Step field
  2. Go to Setup → Historical Trending → Opportunity → Configure Data and add any filter
  3. Return to Pipeline Inspection — the stale indicator (red clock) next to Next Step disappears immediately
Solución

Remove the Filter

  1. Go to Setup → Historical Trending → Opportunity → Configure Data
  2. Remove the filter 
  3. Save 

Note: After removing the filter, the red clock icon will appear immediately.
