Unable to upgrade to "Sync Email as Activity" Due to Unassigned EAC Users

Date de publication: May 6, 2026
Description

The 'Sync Email as Activity' upgrade option is missing from the Einstein Activity Capture (EAC) setup page. This could occur when an org has users who are licensed and connected but have not been assigned to an EAC configuration.

Starting in early May 2026, a new feature will be introduced as part of the Spring '26 release that allows administrators to add unassigned users directly to an Einstein Activity Capture (EAC) configuration. For more details, see the Spring '26 Release Notes. Note: This feature rollout will be staggered, beginning with Sandbox environments in early May 2026, followed by Production orgs. Release dates are subject to the staggered rollout schedule; therefore, a firm date for each specific orgs is not available.

After the feature becomes available in May 2026, follow these steps to upgrade users to the 'Sync Email as Activity' functionality:

  1. Navigate to the EAC Setup page and in the new UI, select "users not in a configuration" to download the complete list of eligible users. See image below for reference - Disregard the date shown in this screenshot; actual deadline will be unique to each org. If users are not manually added to a configuration by your specific cutoff date, they will be added automatically. To prevent specific users from being auto-assigned, ensure their EAC licenses are removed prior to the deadline.
  2. Create a new EAC configuration with Email toggled ON (Configure the Events and Contacts settings as needed for your org).
  3. Add the previously downloaded list of users to this new configuration and save.
  4. Once the configuration is saved, a new UI section titled "Update Einstein Activity Capture and Migrate Email Data" will appear. This section enables the upgrade to the Sync Email as Activity feature.
