In the Data Processing Engine (DPE), users may notice that common Nonprofit Cloud definitions—such as *NPC_DonorGiftSummary or *NPC_OutreachSummary—are present in some orgs but entirely missing in others. This discrepancy typically depends on how the Salesforce environment was originally provisioned.
While some orgs show these definitions as available templates, older orgs or environments that did not start as a specific Nonprofit Cloud Trial may not have these definitions pre-populated. When a 30-day NPC trial is created, automated scripts run to generate specific "NPC" DPE definitions. This automation is designed to allow users to test NPC functionality in a trial environment with minimal initial configuration required. The Standard Definition Templates do not feature a Run Definition button, and must be cloned in order to test/run your definition.
If you environment does not currently contain the unmanaged definitions, cloning the Standard Definition Template will create an unmanaged definition, and will allow you to use the Run Definition button. You may find more information on this topic in our Data Processing Engine article
