Q: Should I pursue a certification exam that is scheduled for retirement?
A: We allow candidates to continue registering for and taking a retiring exam to provide flexibility and options. If you pass before the retirement deadline (August 31, 2026), you'll earn the certification and it will remain visible on your Trailblazer Profile—marked as retired on February 1, 2027.
A retired certification is still a valid certification. It demonstrates your knowledge of the product and your commitment to building expertise in that area. The retirement of this certification reflects an update to our certification catalog, ensuring its alignment with the latest Salesforce products and in-demand skills. It does not mean the underlying product is unsupported, nor does it diminish the valuable expertise you've acquired.
If you've already registered but want to pursue a different certification instead, you can cancel and receive a refund.
Q: Why is Salesforce retiring these certifications?
A: The Salesforce Certification program is constantly evolving, which brings changes to our certification exam catalog. These updates ensure your certifications align with changing industry priorities and continue to reflect the most in-demand Salesforce professional skills and expertise critical for today's market.
Retiring these exams helps us to:
Make your certifications more valuable: We align our certification offerings with the skills and expertise that hiring managers seek in the workplace.
Stay current with the product landscape: As Salesforce technologies evolve, our certification catalog is updated to reflect the skills professionals use daily.
Grow your skills where it matters most: We build certifications around the latest job roles, products, and features to give you the most relevant, in-demand certifications available today.

Q: Is a retired certification still valid?
A retired certification is still a valid certification. It demonstrates your knowledge of the product and your commitment to building expertise in that area. Retirement simply means Salesforce is no longer actively maintaining or evaluating those skills as part of our current catalog—it does not invalidate the work you put in or the knowledge you gained.
Below is a list of upcoming certification retirements and their paths forward post-retirement.
