"Invalid Cross Reference ID Error" when trying to delete campaign member records without Contact or Lead

Description

The user encountered an issue where a Campaign Member record in the refreshed sandbox is corrupted and can't be deleted or modified. The associated Contact record doesn't exist in the sandbox, leading to an 'invalid cross reference ID' error.

Resolution

1. Attempt to delete the record using the API. Query the record by its ID and execute a delete command.

2. Log a case with Salesforce Support to run a fix.

Provide these details while logging the case:

  • Affected org ID and
  • system admin's login access with written approval on the case to reproduce the issue and run the fix on the given sandbox org.
