Getting the error “We can’t delete recordings right now. Please try again later.” in Recording Management when trying to delete recordings in bulk.

Description

When trying to delete voice call recordings from the Recording Management page in Setup and is encountering the following error:
“We can’t delete recordings right now. Please try again later.”

Steps to Reproduce:

1] Log in to the org
2] Go to Setup
3] Navigate to Recording Management
4] Select recording in bulk and try to delete it.

NOTE: However, when we open an individual recording record directly, we are able to delete it successfully from there.

 

Resolution

1. Ensure that the user who is attempting to delete the call recordings has both the Dialer Inbound and Dialer Outbound permission sets assigned. These permissions are mandatory for deleting voice call recordings in the system.

2. If there are not enough licenses available for the user who is trying to delete the call recordings, you can temporarily remove the Dialer permission sets from another user and assign them to the required user. Once the recordings are deleted, the permission sets can be reassigned to the original user. This will not have any impact, however, while the Dialer permission sets are removed temporarily, those users will not have access to Dialer features until the permission sets are assigned back.
