This article explains why the Donor Gift Summary DPE definition fails to save, activate, or run in Nonprofit Cloud and how to resolve the missing-access errors raised against the Analytics Cloud Integration User such as "This run of the Data Processing Engine definition couldn't process the data". "We couldn't save the definition because the integration user with the Analytics Cloud Integration User profile doesn't have access". The issue occurs when the Analytics Cloud Integration User does not have required field-level read access for fields used in DPE Data Source nodes and/or is missing the Fundraising Access permission set. This can prevent donor summary reports and rollups from running or updating.
Resolve the issue by granting the Analytics Cloud Integration User the required permissions and field access used by the Donor Gift Summary DPE definition. Apply the relevant steps below until activation succeeds.
Cause 1: Missing field-level access on DPE Data Source fields
Go to Setup > Users > Profiles and open the Analytics Cloud Integration User profile.
Open Object Settings and select the required objects.
Grant Read (Visible) access to all fields used by the DPE Data Source nodes, including commonly impacted fields such as:
GiftSoftCredit: SoftCreditAmount, DonorId
GiftCommitment: ScheduleType, FormalCommitmentType, ExpectedTotalCmtAmount
GiftTransaction: Transaction_Type__c and other referenced fields
DonorGiftSummary: DonorId
PartyRelationshipGroup: Type and other referenced fields
Verify Read and View All object permissions are enabled for these objects.
Cause 2: Fundraising Access permission set is not assigned
Go to Setup > Users > Users and open the Analytics Cloud Integration User record.
Edit Permission Set Assignments.
Assign the Fundraising Access permission set (or an equivalent custom permission set group).
Cause 3: Data Pipelines is disabled
Go to Setup > Data Pipelines > Get Started.
Enable Data Pipelines.
Cause 4: Scheduled flow using Automated Process User still fails
Grant the same required field-level access to the Automated Process User profile.
Verification
Open the cloned DonorGiftSummary DPE definition.
Save and activate the definition.
Run the definition and verify it completes successfully in Monitor Workflow Services.
Confirm Donor Gift Summary records are created or updated successfully.
