A scheduled automation run is skipped when the next scheduled time arrives while the previous run is still in progress. The causes fall into two main categories: processing time overruns and misconfigured File Drop queue settings. Processing time overruns include three patterns: chronic overruns, delays caused by Wait activities, and temporary overruns due to resource contention. Prevent skips by making the appropriate configuration changes, improving the automation design, and following manual recovery procedures for each cause. Proactive monitoring using notification settings is also recommended.
a. Chronic Processing Overruns
b. Wait Activity Design Issues
c. Temporary Overruns Due to Resource Contention
