Own Archive (Managed Packaged) Retirement

Salesforce is retiring Own Archive (Managed Package) and Archive Console. As of May 4, 2026, these products are no longer renewable. We're moving to a native archiving solution to provide better scalability, visibility, and ongoing innovation.

Am I affected?

This change applies to customers on AWS. This does not apply to customers hosting data on Azure, FedRAMP-approved environments, or using BYOK/MS features — those customers can continue to renew until further notice.

What does this change mean for me?

At renewal, your archiving configuration will migrate to the new native Archive solution. Your storage capacity remains the same. The new native app helps you:

• Scale: Manage larger data volumes with a robust architecture.
• Troubleshoot: Resolve issues faster with precise error messaging.
• Simplify setup: Configure features easily with a redesigned interface.
• Stay updated: New features and enhancements are only available in the new version.

Do I lose access immediately?

No. You can continue using your current subscription through the end of your contract term.

How do I get the new native solution?

You have two options:

• Wait for renewal: The transition will happen as part of the renewal process.
• Proactive swap: Reach out to your Account Executive now to request an early swap to the native product.

Does moving to a new archive offering require any adjustments?

Yes. To support a full migration of your existing archive setup, you'll need to follow a few steps (also outlined in Migrate from the Archive Managed Package to the Archive App):

• Update permissions: Adjust custom permission sets to align with the new solution.
• UI updates: Replace legacy package UI widgets (Archive single and multiple objects) with native components.
• Code Maintenance: If using Archive SDK (custom Apex), update your class references to point to the native solution.

Important! To avoid disrupted workflows or archival errors, complete these updates within 30 days of authenticating your new native solution. Refer to Migrate from the Archive Managed Package to the Archive App for detailed technical documentation.

What happens if I don't take action?

At renewal, your renewal manager replaces the managed package and console with the new Archive version. You must sign the renewal to prevent service interruptions.
