In Marketing Cloud Engagement, when attempting to rename a Filtered Data Extension, you may encounter the message "Error: An error occurred updating the filter" and be unable to change the name.

This error is likely caused by the [Allow this Data Extension to be deleted] setting being turned off in the Data Extension's policy management.

This article provides the steps to successfully update the name by modifying the policy settings of the target Data Extension.

Solución

Steps to Change Policy Settings and Update the Name

  1. Log in to Marketing Cloud Engagement and open Email Studio.
  2. Navigate to [Subscribers] | [Data Extensions] from the top tab.
  3. Click on the target Filtered Data Extension.
  4. Click the [Manage Policies] button.
  5. Turn on the [Allow this Data Extension to be deleted] setting.
  6. Click [Save].
  7. Change the name of the target Filtered Data Extension to the new name and save it.
  8. After the name change is complete, turn off [Allow this Data Extension to be deleted] to revert to the original setting, if necessary.
