Data 360: Calculated Insight Update Fails with Gack Error

Description

If you are unable to refresh or update a Calculated Insight (CI) in the Data Cloud org and encounter the following error, refer to the Resolution section of this article to resolve the issue:

Error Message:

"We couldn't update the Calculated Insight. Try again later. GackId: 927453993-526252 (-1967935770)"

This error can occur when an associated Flow is actively consuming the Calculated Insight output, causing the update operation to exceed platform transaction limits.

 

Resolution

This behavior is expected and works as designed. The platform does not allow writes to setup and non-setup entities within the same transaction.

To resolve the issue, follow these steps:

  1. Determine whether the Calculated Insight (CI) you are attempting to update has an associated Flow that consumes or collects the CI output.
  2. If an associated Flow exists, deactivate the Flow before updating the Calculated Insight definition.
  3. Update the Calculated Insight and save the changes.
  4. Verify that the Calculated Insight updates successfully and can be executed without errors.
  5. Once the update is complete and validated, reactivate the associated Flow if required.

By temporarily disabling the Flow, the update operation can complete without encountering the platform transaction limitation.
