Beskrivning

Symptoms / Error Messages

The following errors appear in the FSL managed package installation failure notification email:
Dashboard errors (missing column):

  • Dashboard(FieldServiceWorkCapacityDashboards/CompareAggregatedWorkstreamUtilizationV2): WorkCapacityUsage$ServiceTerritory column is missing
  • Dashboard(FieldServiceWorkCapacityDashboards/RRYSGLHrmcRLDBGKUxngyrueoGIwXW1): WorkCapacityUsage$ServiceTerritory column is missing
  • Dashboard(FieldServiceWorkCapacityDashboards/WeeklyAggregatedWorkstreamUtilizationV2): WorkCapacityUsage$ServiceTerritory column is missing
  • Dashboard(FieldServiceWorkCapacityDashboards/vwfpkAEnvconLBZYbbJkPTWzLlVfrb): WorkCapacityUsage$ServiceTerritory column is missing

LightningComponentBundle validation error:

  • markup://FSL:dispatchConsoleMetadataProcessor: Validation error (FieldUndefined@[uiapi/query/UserSetting__c/edges/node/FSL__User_Setting_Territory_UserSettings__r]): Field 'FSL__User_Setting_Territory_UserSettings__r' in type 'FSL__UserSetting__c' is undefined. line: 28, column: 37, startIndex: 1329

These errors do not indicate that Service Territories are missing or misconfigured in the org. They are artifacts of an incomplete managed package installation caused by missing permissions on the installing user's profile.

Root Cause

The FSL managed package installation is triggered by a user assigned to a custom System Administrator profile — typically a profile cloned from the standard System Administrator profile. Custom-cloned profiles may not inherit all system permissions required for managed package installation.
Two specific permission gaps can cause this failure:

  1. Missing "Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps" system permission — This permission is required on the installing user's profile for the managed package installation to succeed.
  2. Non-standard System Administrator profile — Salesforce Field Service managed packages require the installing user to have either the standard out-of-the-box System Administrator profile, or a custom profile with all required permissions explicitly enabled. Custom-cloned profiles may silently lack one or more of these permissions.

Resolution

Option 1: Add Missing System Permission to Custom Profile (Preferred – Least Disruptive)

  1. Go to Setup → Profiles → [Custom Admin Profile]
  2. Navigate to System Permissions
  3. Enable: ✅ Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps
  4. Save the profile
  5. Retry the FSL managed package installation

Note: If the installation still fails after enabling this permission, proceed to Option 2.

Option 2: Temporarily Switch the Installing User to Standard System Administrator Profile or Use the standard system admin profile user

This is the confirmed working resolution.

  1. Go to Setup → Users → [Installing User]
  2. Change the user's Profile to the standard System Administrator profile or use the user already using system Administrator profile
  3. Install the FSL managed package using the official install link
  4. Once installation completes successfully, revert the user's Profile back to their original custom admin profile if you are using custom one
Ytterligare resurser
  • The WorkCapacityUsage$ServiceTerritory column missing errors and the FSL__User_Setting_Territory_UserSettings__r undefined field errors both resolve automatically once the package installs successfully. No separate remediation of dashboards or fields is needed.
  • These errors appear regardless of whether Work Capacity is enabled or disabled in Field Service Settings.
  • This issue applies to sandbox and production environments when the installing user is on a custom admin profile.
