The Salesforce Field Service Mobile app cannot be downloaded or run on Huawei devices running EMUI (Huawei's Android-based mobile operating system) or HarmonyOS (Huawei's proprietary operating system). This incompatibility affects all Huawei devices, regardless of the EMUI or HarmonyOS version installed.
The Field Service Mobile app is incompatible with all Huawei EMUI and HarmonyOS devices due to one root cause with two related effects.
In 2019, Huawei lost access to Google Mobile Services, including Google Play Services. As a result, no Huawei device — regardless of EMUI version, HarmonyOS version, or underlying Android version — ships with Google Play Services. The Field Service Mobile app requires Google Play Services as a core dependency. Without it, the app cannot access essential Android services and will not run.
There is no workaround that allows the Field Service Mobile app to run on a Huawei device. Even a Huawei device running a recent version of EMUI or HarmonyOS is not compatible because Google Play Services is permanently absent and cannot be installed.
In addition to the Google Play Services requirement, the Field Service Mobile app supports only Android versions within the current rolling support window. The minimum supported Android version changes with each Salesforce release. EMUI and HarmonyOS devices typically run Android versions or OS variants that may not meet this requirement. See the Technical Requirements page (linked in Additional Resources) for the current minimum Android version.
Transition to a supported Android device that meets the current requirements for the Field Service Mobile app. There is no workaround for Huawei EMUI or HarmonyOS devices — the incompatibility is caused by the permanent absence of Google Play Services on all Huawei devices.
The replacement device must meet the requirements published on the Technical Requirements page (see Additional Resources). Key requirements include:
The minimum supported Android version follows a rolling lifecycle policy and is updated with each Salesforce release. Always check the Technical Requirements page for the current minimum rather than relying on a specific version number.
