Troubleshooting Refresh Token IP Allowlist Values Not Migrated from Connected App to External Client App During Migration Process

When migrating a Connected App to an External Client App (ECA) in Salesforce, the Refresh Token IP Allowlist values configured on the original Connected App are not automatically carried over to the new External Client App. A Connected App is a framework that allows an external application to integrate with Salesforce using APIs and standard protocols. An External Client App (ECA) is the newer, more flexible replacement for Connected Apps introduced in recent Salesforce releases.

This is a known issue that is scheduled to be fixed in an upcoming release. Until the fix is available, use the workaround in the Resolution section to manually apply Refresh Token IP Allowlist values to your External Client App.

Lösung

To apply Refresh Token IP Allowlist values to your External Client App after migration from a Connected App, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your External Client App in Salesforce Setup. Recreate the Refresh Token IP Allowlist values that were present on your original Connected App. Enter each IP address or range exactly as it was configured before.
  2. After recreating all Refresh Token IP Allowlist records, update at least one of them — either by modifying its description or changing an IP value slightly and then reverting it. This update action triggers Salesforce to honor the new Refresh Token IP Allowlist values on the External Client App.

Note: This is a known issue. No further troubleshooting is required. The fix is planned for the next Salesforce release. Once the fix is available, migrations from Connected App to External Client App will automatically carry over Refresh Token IP Allowlist values.
