Loyalty Management: "You Can't Reverse the Accrual Transaction Because the Transaction Journal Includes Debit Ledgers"

Veröffentlichungsdatum: Jun 23, 2026
Beschreibung

This issue occurs when a user attempts to reverse or cancel a processed accrual Transaction Journal using Reverse Transaction, a Cancel Accrual flow action, or an accrual cancellation invocable action.

The operation fails with the following message:

"You can't reverse the accrual transaction because the transaction journal includes debit ledgers."

An accrual reversal requires Salesforce Loyalty Management to remove the exact points that were originally credited by the accrual. If those points have already been consumed by a subsequent debit transaction, the original credit ledger becomes associated with one or more debit ledgers and can no longer be cleanly reversed.

The issue occurs when either of the following conditions is true:

  • The accrual's credit Loyalty Ledger (LoyaltyLedger) has one or more associated debit ledger records.
  • The member's current balance in the affected Loyalty Member Currency (LoyaltyMemberCurrency) is lower than the number of points originally credited by the accrual.

Common transactions that create debit ledger records include:

  • Point redemptions
  • Point expiration processing
  • Point transfers
  • Manual point deductions
  • Adjustment transactions
  • Other debit Transaction Journals

Even when the member's overall balance appears sufficient, the reversal can still fail if the specific points credited by the accrual have already been consumed and linked to debit ledger transactions.

Lösung

Cause 1: The accrual's credited points have already been consumed by debit ledgers (most common)

  1. Open the accrual Transaction Journal (TransactionJournal) that you attempted to reverse.
  2. Open the related credit Loyalty Ledger (LoyaltyLedger) record.
  3. Identify any debit ledger records associated with that credit ledger.
  4. If traceability is enabled, review the related Traceability Loyalty Ledger records to determine which debit transactions consumed the credited points.
  5. For each dependent debit transaction:
    • Open the associated debit Transaction Journal.
    • Select Reverse Transaction.
    • Choose the appropriate reversal reason.
    • Complete the reversal.
  6. Verify that the consumed points have been returned to the member's balance.
  7. Return to the original accrual Transaction Journal and retry Reverse Transaction.

The accrual can be reversed only after all dependent debit ledger transactions have been addressed.

Cause 2: The member's available balance is lower than the accrual amount

  1. Open the affected Loyalty Program Member (LoyaltyProgramMember) record.
  2. Review the related Loyalty Member Currency (LoyaltyMemberCurrency) record.
  3. Compare the current points balance to the points originally credited by the accrual.
  4. If the available balance is lower than the accrual amount:
    • Credit the member through an approved business process.
    • Create a correcting accrual Transaction Journal or administrative adjustment as appropriate.
  5. Retry the accrual reversal after the balance is sufficient.

An accrual reversal debits the member's balance and cannot proceed if insufficient points are available.

Cause 3: The original credit ledger is unavailable

  1. Open the accrual Transaction Journal.
  2. Confirm that the journal was successfully processed.
  3. Review the related Loyalty Ledger records.
  4. Verify that the original credit ledger exists.
  5. If the credit ledger is unavailable, the standard reversal process cannot determine the original source of the points.
  6. Create an offsetting adjustment Transaction Journal for the same currency and points amount according to your organization's correction procedures instead of using Reverse Transaction.
