Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud: "You don't have read permission for Customer Manager" when opening a Visit

Veröffentlichungsdatum: Jul 6, 2026
Beschreibung

This article applies to Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud users who receive a read permission error while accessing Visit-related functionality.

Common symptoms include:

  • Opening a Visit displays "You don't have read permission for Customer Manager."
  • The Provider Card loads with incomplete or missing information.
  • The Edit Visitor action does not display the expected visitor records.
  • Additional related information is unavailable to non-administrator users.

Although affected users have a valid Life Sciences Cloud license, they may not have the required object or field permissions needed by the Visit page or Provider Card components.

Lösung

Determine which scenario applies to the affected users.

Scenario 1: Missing object permissions

  1. Navigate to Setup > Users > Profiles or Setup > Permission Sets.
  2. Open the profile or permission set assigned to the affected user.
  3. Open Object Settings.
  4. Verify the user has Read access to the Customer Manager object.
  5. Also verify Read access for every object referenced by the Visit page or Provider Card configuration.
  6. If users are expected to create or update Visit records, grant the required Create and Edit permissions.
  7. Save the changes.

Scenario 2: Missing field-level security

  1. Navigate to Setup > Object Manager.
  2. Open the affected object.
  3. Select Fields & Relationships.
  4. For each field displayed on the Visit page or Provider Card, select Set Field-Level Security.
  5. Ensure the field is Visible for the affected profile or permission set.
  6. Save the changes.

Scenario 3: Provider Card or Edit Visitor displays incomplete data

  1. Review the configuration of the Provider Card or related FlexCard.
  2. Verify users have Read access to every object and field referenced by the component's data source.
  3. Confirm the component is assigned to the correct Lightning Record Page.
  4. If offline access is enabled, verify the required object metadata cache configuration includes the objects used by the Provider Card.
  5. After updating permissions or metadata, have the user synchronize or refresh the mobile application before testing again.

Confirm the issue is resolved by logging in as the affected user and verifying that:

  • The Visit page opens without the "You don't have read permission for Customer Manager" error.
  • The Provider Card displays the expected information.
  • The Edit Visitor action displays the available visitors.
  • Both Lightning Experience and the Life Sciences mobile application behave as expected for the user's assigned permissions.
