Starting on August 4, 2026, Agentforce Coworker is being automatically enabled on a rolling basis for customers with Unmetered User Based AI seats - no additional setup, training, or cost. You'll receive an email before it goes live.

Below are some answers to frequently asked questions about the Agentforce Coworker automatic enablement.


What is Agentforce Coworker?

Agentforce Coworker is your autonomous teammate that gives AI-powered answers right from your CRM Global Search bar, so your team can find what they need faster and spend less time digging through records. You can also choose to connect to Slack and Data 360 objects to expand your search even more.

What does automatic enablement mean?

Auto-enablement means Agentforce Coworker features will automatically appear and be ready for use within Salesforce for users with unmetered User-based AI Entitlements. What changes will I see in my org?

Admin Experience

  • In-product banner confirms Agentforce Coworker is active for unmetered AI seats.

End User Experience

  • An Ask button appears by the Global Search bar.
  • Ask Mode: Provides AI answers from CRM data (Accounts, Contacts, Knowledge), respecting all user access permissions.
  • Search Mode: Agentforce responses display alongside standard search results that respect all user access permissions.
  • New users receive an onboarding notification banner upon login.

Note: Users who acquire the necessary entitlements after automatic enablement see the standard search experience until an admin manually gives the users access to Agentforce Coworker.

What do I need to do to prepare?

Not much. Admins, there a couple things to do before Agentforce Coworker is auto-enabled:

  1. Decide whether to opt out of automatic enablement. 
    1. If you opt out, Agentforce Coworker can be toggled on at any time.
  2. If you want Agentforce Coworker auto-enabled, make sure Einstein is active - it powers the AI features.

Does it cost extra?

No. Searching Salesforce CRM (default) and Slack (optional) via Agentforce Coworker doesn't use Flex Credits for those with Agentforce 1 Edition or Agentforce for Sales, Service, or Industries seats. For more info see What’s Included? and Billing Considerations for Agentforce Coworker.

Does usage show up in Digital Wallet?

No, for users with Unmetered User-based AI Entitlements, their usage will show 0% consumption in Digital Wallet and won’t count towards their contracted usage limit.

Can I opt out or opt back in? 

Yes! Here’s how:

  • Opt out before automatic enablement: Use the opt-out link in your notification email, or flip the toggle in Setup > Agentforce Coworker > Opt Out of Auto Activation.
  • Opt in or out after automatic enablement: You can enable or disable the Agentforce Coworker toggle from Agentforce Coworker Setup at any time.

What's included?

Agentforce Coworker can search and provide insights on the following:

  • CRM data, such as accounts, contacts, opportunities, cases, and more
  • Slack data (optional)*
  • Data 360 objects (optional)**

*Connecting Slack to Agentforce Coworker is optional. Searching through Slack is free for customers with Agentforce 1 Edition and Agentforce for Sales, Service, or Industries.

**Connecting Data 360 objects to Agentforce Coworker is optional. Ingesting, processing, and indexing content in Data 360 uses Flex Credits regardless of billing plan.

Who’s not eligible for automatic enablement?

The following are excluded from automatic enablement:

  • Orgs that have chosen not to enable generative AI features
  • Orgs with multi-dataspace or multi-org topologies
  • Usage-based (Flex Foundation) seats without Unmetered User-Based AI entitlements

*HIPAA, HLS, and government orgs are excluded from automatic enablement, as Agentforce Coworker is not currently covered under Salesforce's BAA. A certified path is pending; see Manage Compliance for Your Pro Suite for interim guidance.

What happens if your license changes after automatic enablement?

Here’s what happens if a user's license changes following the automatic enablement period:

  • User is upgraded to eligible entitlements post-enablement
    • Administrators are required to manually provide Agentforce Coworker access to these individuals.
    • The user transitions to an unmetered status as soon as the seat is assigned.
  • User loses their seat post-enablement
    • While access to Agentforce Coworker is maintained through the primary Salesforce license, the billing structure returns to the standard Flex Credit model.
