When an administrator searches for the Skill object in Setup > Object Manager, the object does not appear in the results, as a result, the user cannot create custom fields for this object.
In Salesforce, the Skill object is used to define and manage skills assigned to agents, technicians, and service resources. Skills are used across multiple Salesforce products, including Field Service, Salesforce Scheduler, and Omni-Channel.
The Skill object has a fixed schema that cannot be extended through the Object Manager. Since this object is used across multiple products, it is exposed in the org setup, which is intentional and by design. Therefore custom fields cannot be created for it.
