SDR Agent Final Email Draft Truncated or Not Matching Resolved Prompt

  • SDR Agent is configured to call a Sales Email Prompt Template.
  • In Debug/Preview mode, the resolved prompt is generated correctly with all expected context, instructions, and formatting.
  • When executing from the UI, the final email draft is incomplete — significant details from the resolved prompt are truncated or missing.
  • Inconsistent behavior between Preview/Debug mode and live UI execution.
Løsning

This is a known limitation in the SDR Agent's post-processing pipeline.

In Preview mode, the resolved prompt is sent directly to the LLM, allowing all instructions and content to render as expected.

However, when an email is generated through the UI, the SDR post-processing pipeline is invoked. This pipeline currently does not support custom instruction modifications in the same way as Preview mode  resulting in custom formatting, signatures, dynamically generated text, or other content being truncated or excluded from the final email output.

 

1. Explicitly instruct the agent to use the Prompt Template output as the email body.

2. Use a lightweight Prompt Template with a single input object :
Configure the prompt template with only one input object (e.g., Contact or Lead). Multiple input objects are not currently supported and may cause unexpected behavior.

3. Verify the Prompt Template type
Use one of the following supported configurations:
  • Agentforce SDR Email prompt template with Contact as the input object
  • Flex Prompt Template with Contact as the input object

4. The SDR post-processing pipeline currently supports:
  • Non Send As Seller: Static signature including AI disclaimer and opt-out messaging (configurable via guided setup)
  • Send As Seller: Uses the Lead Owner's configured Lex signature

Custom dynamic content (signatures, footers) generated via Flow actions may not consistently appear in the final email output until this issue is resolved.
