Users accessing Life Sciences Cloud on an iPad may notice that Global Search results do not display the same fields they see in the web browser version of the application. Global Search on iPad shows only the fields defined in the default (global) Search Layout — fields added or customized in a profile-specific Search Layout are not displayed. The same profile-specific Search Layout configuration works correctly in the Life Sciences Cloud web browser experience. No error messages are displayed; the search simply returns fewer or different fields than expected. For example, a user whose profile is configured to display the Email Address field in Contact search results will see that field correctly when searching on the web, but not when searching on iPad. This is a known product limitation, not a result of incorrect org configuration — reviewing or reconfiguring Search Layouts, profiles, or permission sets will not resolve this behavior.
There is currently no workaround available that allows profile-specific Search Layout fields to appear in Global Search results on iPad. No configuration changes are needed or recommended, as your setup is not the cause. If this limitation is impacting your users, contact your Salesforce account team to register your interest, which helps inform product prioritization. Monitor Salesforce Release Notes for future updates to Life Sciences Cloud mobile capabilities.
